2008 EFI / NRA SPRINT INVADERS PROCEDURES

 

 The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events.  These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and, by participating in these events all participants are deemed to have compiled with these rules: NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF/OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. The National Racing Alliance officials shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that, in their opinion, do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS.  Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials, whose decision is final.

 

 

GENERAL REGULATIONS

 

 

1.  MEMBERSHIP – Anyone wishing to become a member of the National Racing Alliance Sprint Invaders may do so by purchasing a membership for the 2008 season.   Membership fee for the 2008 season is $125.00.  Memberships can be purchased anytime during the year.  Points will only be awarded to fully paid members, after the membership has been paid.  Members will receive 50 appearance points and become eligible for tow money / prize money, once the driver has taken a Competition green flag. (Dash, Heat or Feature) Anyone wishing to compete with the NRA Sprint Invaders must be at least sixteen years old and have a valid driver’s license from the state they reside in. Drivers must be a NRA Sprint Invaders member to be eligible for points, point fund money and contingency prizes.  Completed membership application and fee must be turned in before a driver is awarded any points.  The National Racing Alliance Awards Banquet will be held at the University of Northwestern Ohio on October 18, 2008.  Any driver that is eligible for point fund money, special awards, or contingency awards must purchase a banquet ticket and appear at the banquet to receive the above mentioned awards. Payouts for drivers placing in the series point fund will be made October 18, 2008 at the conclusion of the 2008 National Racing Alliance Awards Banquet.  Driver must be present and sign for point fund payout.

 

All non-members will be charged a $20 temporary membership fee per show.

(Must be paid to the NRA officials prior to pill draw / qualifying.)

 

 2.  DECALS – All members’ cars must display the official NRA Sprint Invaders decal and decals of any major NRA Sprint Invaders sponsors (up to a maximum of four total decals) to be eligible for points and point fund money.  Contingency sponsors may require their decals to be displayed to be eligible for contingency prizes.  Cars must display decals on the outside of both side panels of top wing.   Failure to display mandatory decals will result in the forfeiture of that event’s points.  If a NRA member drives a car that does not have the required decals, no points will be awarded to that driver for that event.

 

 3.  DRIVER CHANGE – Any time a driver switches cars, he/she starts at the rear of the event he/she is qualified to run.

 

 4.  WEIGHT RULE – Car cannot weigh less than 1475 LBS with driver (with or without mufflers).  All “A” Main qualifiers and the top 3 “A” Main finishers must scale immediately after each race event.  Random weigh-in may be required at any time during program including after feature finish.  Car may not cross scales more than two times to determine weight.   Scales will be available any time for checking weight before program begins.  It is your responsibility to remove mud before any weigh-in.  No bolted or added on weights or ballast of any kind.  No filling of frame rails or nerf bars.  Floor pan or body panels may not be thicker than 1/8 inch.  All parts have to resemble sprint car parts.  You cannot sacrifice safety for weight.

 FAILURE TO CROSS SCALE OR UNDER THE MINIMUM WEIGHT—The car will be disqualified for the event, and lose all points for the event, (example-heat race) but is eligible for the next event, (example-B-Main) but will start at the rear of the event.  B-Main or A-Main events, the car will be disqualified and lose all points and money for the night. 

 

 5.  THE DRAW – Drivers will draw for heat race line-up.  A dice roll will be used to determine the invert for the A-Main line-up.

 

 6.  TIME TRIALS – When cars time for position, the qualifying procedure will be announced by the track at the drivers meeting.  A-Main drivers transferring from heat races will be inverted 6 positions based on qualifying time.

 

 7.  MUFFLERSLimaland Motorsports Park requires mufflers.  Otherwise, mufflers are needed only when a track requires them.

 

 8.  TRACK PROCEDURES – Track procedures will prevail at all NRA Sprint Invaders shows.

 

 9.  One Way Radios – Required for all scheduled events

 

 10. CONDUCT - The driver is the sole spokesperson for the race team and is responsible for their actions.  Verbal abuse or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. No warning will be given. If violated, the team may be disqualified with all points and money forfeited for that night. Other penalties may be applied depending on specific situation.

 

11.  INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR – Any driver who competes with the NRA Sprint Invaders is considered an independent contractor and as such is responsible for all charges, premiums, and taxes, if any, payable on any funds received from NRA Sprint Invaders.  The accountant will be sending an IRS form 1099 for any point fund money that totals $600 or more.  The form will be sent to the person designated on the NRA membership form to receive such documents.
